Rutilio Reyes ID’d as Pedestrian Killed in Hit-and-run Crash
MADERA, California – Rutilio Reyes, 69, of Madera, was struck and killed in a hit-and-run crash early Sunday, May 12th in Madera.
The collision took place about 12:30 a.m. at Cleveland Avenue, just west of D Street. The victim, who lived a few blocks away, was crossing the roadway in a crosswalk when he was struck by an oncoming dark blue or grey Chevy Silverado or GMC Sierra truck. Police responded to the scene and found the victim suffered fatal injuries. The roadway was temporarily blocked for several hours as they investigated.
The suspect who struck the man fled the scene without stopping to help him, according to Your Central Valley. Police found debris in the roadway and believe the suspect’s vehicle could have grill damage to the bumper and as well probably the hood.
