Two Hurt in Crash on Highway 140 Near Stevinson
STEVINSON, Calif. (Jan. 19, 2022) — Ryan Williams, 42, of Delhi, and Paula Gomez, 60, of Winton, were involved in a collision Monday afternoon at Highway 140 and Highway 165 near Stevinson.
The collision happened about 4:38 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 17th, according to the California Highway Patrol.
CHP officials say the Winton woman was heading southbound on Highway 165 at about 60 mph in a 2005 Honda Civic. She allegedly failed to stop at a 4-way stop sign and crashed into the right side of a 1999 Dodge 3500 pickup truck driven by Williams. The pickup had stopped at the intersection and proceeded to drive through it at about 5 to 10 mph. The Honda Civic struck the pickup truck towing a horse trailer and then it overturned.
Paramedics responded and rushed the Winton woman to Memorial Medical Center in Modesto with major arm and leg injuries. Meanwhile, Williams refused medical treatment despite complaints of pain.
Police do not suspect drugs and or alcohol were factors in the crash at this time.
The collision remains under investigation.
