Major Injury Collision on Westside Freeway Sunday
Sacramento, CA (October 10, 2021) – A bicycle rider suffered major injuries following a traffic accident that occurred on Interstate 5 in Sacramento Sunday evening.

The California Highway Patrol group reported a white truck hit a bicyclist in the southbound side of I-5, also known as Westside Freeway. Initial records indicated the collision took place at the P Street onramp.
Shortly after 8:50 p.m., rescue teams arrived at the location. Responding paramedics checked the conditions of all parties involved in the accident. After the evaluation, authorities confirmed the bicycle rider sustained major injuries as a result of the collision.
An ambulance later transported the patient to the hospital for treatment.
Investigators continue to work at this time; to determine exactly how and why the bicycle accident on Interstate 5 in Sacramento happened.
