5 Injured in Sacramento Truck Crash on Westbound Highway 50 Near 59th Street
SACRAMENTO, CA (June 8, 2021) – A crash left several people injured on Highway 50 near 59th Street in Sacramento.
According to an article published by the FOX 40 News, the accident took place on Monday morning. Officers reported the wreck shortly after 7:30 a.m.
The Sacramento Fire Department said multiple vehicles, including a big box truck and a non-transporting private ambulance, collided on June 7.
The incident began when an America West Ambulance slammed into the rear of the white truck for an unknown reason. They crashed in the westbound lanes of Highway 50, before the 59th Street overpass.

Firefighters along with the paramedics arrived at the scene and soon found a total of five patients who ended up hurt as a result of the collision.
Medical personnel then provided treatment to the victims for the minor injuries they sustained in the wreck. Their names and their condition at this time were not disclosed.
The report described three of the wounded parties as the driver of the box truck, his co-worker and his 6-year-old son. Witnesses claimed that distracted driving played a role in the collision.
Meanwhile, officials forced the westbound lanes of Highway 50 to close following the crash. The cause of the Sacramento crash is still under investigation.
