Crash Involving Pickup and Alfa Romeo Blocks Lanes on Interstate 5
SACRAMENTO, Calif. (August 22, 2025) — A multi-vehicle car accident Friday on northbound Interstate 5 just south of Pocket Road blocked several lanes and sent at least one person to the hospital, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The collision was reported around 10:07 a.m. and involved a white Alfa Romeo and a silver Dodge Ram pickup. CHP logs indicate the Dodge Ram overturned and came to rest across the No. 2 and 3 lanes, while other vehicles were scattered along the roadway and right shoulder.
Several good Samaritans stopped to help before emergency crews arrived. Sacramento Fire Department responded, and at least one person was transported with moderate injuries.
At the height of the crash, lanes two through four were blocked, leading to significant traffic delays in the Pocket area. By 10:23 a.m., CHP reported that lane one had reopened as tow trucks worked to remove the pickup truck and the Alfa Romeo.
The cause of the crash is under investigation.
