1 Seriously Injured in Sacramento Crash on Eastbound Highway 50 Near Watt Avenue
SACRAMENTO, CA (August 10, 2021) – At least one was seriously injured after a car crash on Highway 50 near Watt Avenue in Sacramento.
The California Highway Patrol dispatch team said the accident on Tuesday night. Officers reported the wreck at about 8:13 p.m.
According to CHP, at least three vehicles collided for an unknown reason in Sacramento. They crashed on eastbound Highway 50, just west of Watt Avenue.
Multiple Vehicles Collide
The incident log said one of the cars involved, a pickup truck, slammed into a light post in the area. Firefighters along with the paramedics soon arrived at the scene.
Medical personnel found one person who sustained major injuries as a result of the collision. They then took the patient to a hospital for treatment.
Officials did not disclose the name of the wounded party and their condition at this time. Meanwhile, CHP forced the eastbound lanes of Highway 50 near Watt Avenue to shut down following the wreck.
Authorities are still determining the cause of the Sacramento crash.
