1 Seriously Injured in Sacramento Crash on Southbound Highway 99 Near Fruitridge
SACRAMENTO, CA (August 22, 2021) – At least one was seriously injured after a car crash on Highway 99 near Fruitridge Road in Sacramento.
According to the California Highway Patrol dispatch team, the accident took place early Sunday. Officers reported the wreck shortly after 2 a.m.
CHP said possibly five vehicles collided for an unknown reason in the city of Sacramento. They crashed on the southbound side of Highway 99, just north of Fruitridge Road.
Multiple Vehicles Collide
The incident log added that one of the cars involved rolled over upon impact. Firefighters along with the paramedics soon arrived at the scene.
They found one person who sustained major injuries as a result of the collision. Medical personnel then took the patient to the UC Davis Medical Center for treatment.
Officials did not release the name of the wounded party and their condition at this time. Meanwhile, the cause of the Sacramento crash is still under investigation.
CHP forced the southbound lanes of Highway 99 near Fruitridge and 12th Avenue to shut down for more than an hour following the wreck.
