SACRAMENTO, California (October 9, 2014) – A car was found submerged in a swimming pool at 4642 Pedersen Way Thursday morning, but the driver somehow escaped and abandoned the vehicle, according to a dispatch by the California Highway Patrol.
About 9:41 a.m., CHP officers received a call from a witness who found the car in the backyard pool and believed someone was inside the vehicle.
The driver of the vehicle appears to have been traveling at the intersection of Dewey Drive and Winding Way when they crashed through a wooden fence and into a swimming pool in the backyard of the Pedersen Way home.
Paramedics responded to the scene of the crash, however, upon arrive it was noted the vehicle was abandoned. A rescue worker found a woman’s purse and a hypodermic needle on the front seat.
A tow truck responded with cable to hook up the vehicle and remove it from the swimming pool about 10:18 a.m.
