1 Killed in Sacramento County Crash on Highway 160 Near Antioch Bridge
SACRAMENTO COUNTY, CA (May 29, 2022) – A crash killed at least one person on Highway 160 near the Antioch Bridge in Sacramento County.
The California Highway Patrol said the tragic accident took place late Sunday night. According to their dispatch, officers reported the wreck at about 10:17 p.m.
The incident happened when two vehicles collided head-on for an unknown reason in Sacramento County. They crashed on northbound Highway 160, just north of the Antioch Bridge.
2 Vehicles Collide
One of the cars involved rolled over due and caught fire to the impact of the collision. Firefighters along with the paramedics soon arrived at the scene near the area of Oakley.
Medical personnel confirmed that one individual died as a result of the wreck. The name of the deceased party has not been yet released pending notification of next of kin.
Meanwhile, CHP forced Highway 160 to shut down in both directions for hours near the bridge following the incident. The cause of the fatal Sacramento County crash is still under investigation.
