Pedestrian Killed in Sacramento County Crash Near Elverta Road and 16th Street
SACRAMENTO COUNTY, CA (January 19, 2022) – A pedestrian was killed after a crash near Elverta Road and 16th Street in Sacramento County.
According to a California Highway Patrol dispatch, the tragic accident took place late Wednesday night. Officers reported the collision at about 11:09 p.m.
CHP said a vehicle struck the pedestrian for an unknown reason in Sacramento County. The driver hit the person on eastbound Elverta Road, just east of the intersection with 16th Street.
Victim Hit by Vehicle
Firefighters along with the paramedics soon arrived at the scene in the Elverta area. They found the victim lying on the ground as a result of the collision.
Medical personnel then pronounced the patient dead. The name of the deceased party has not been yet released pending notification of next of kin.
Meanwhile, CHP did not mention if the motorist stopped and stayed at the site after hitting the person. Officers forced the corner of Elverta Road and 16th Street to shut down for a time following the incident.
The cause of the fatal Sacramento County pedestrian crash is still under investigation.
