Motorcyclist Injured in Sacramento County Crash on Interstate 80 Near Greenback
SACRAMENTO COUNTY, CA (September 11, 2022) – A motorcyclist was hospitalized after a crash on the Interstate 80 near Greenback Lane in Sacramento County.
The California Highway Patrol first logged the accident late last month on August 31. According to their dispatch, officers reported the wreck at about 7:55 a.m.
CHP said when the motorcycle rider collided with the rear of a Volvo XC40 for an unknown reason in Sacramento County. The two crashed on the westbound Interstate 80 near Greenback Lane.
Motorcycle and Car Collide
Firefighters along with the paramedics soon arrived at the scene near Foothill Farms. They found the motorcyclist who sustained minor injuries as a result of the collision.
Medical personnel then rushed the patient to the Mercy San Juan Medical Center for treatment. The report did not release the name of the wounded party and their condition at this time.
Meanwhile, CHP did not mention if the driver of the car ended up hurt or if they stopped following the wreck. The cause of the Sacramento crash is still under investigation.
Officers forced the westbound side of the Interstate 80 to shut down near Greenback after the incident.
