SACRAMENTO, CA (May 25, 2021) – Several were hospitalized after a crash near Highway 50 and Interstate 5 transition road in Sacramento.

The California Highway Patrol dispatch team said the accident took place late Tuesday afternoon. Officers reported the wreck at about 5: 40 p.m.

A motorcycle rider and three more vehicles collided for an unknown reason in Sacramento. They crashed on eastbound Highway 50 near the northbound Interstate 5 off-ramp.

Firefighters along with the paramedics responded to the scene and found a total of four people who ended up hurt as a result of the collision.

Medical personnel then took one patient to the Mercy General Hospital and another to the Sutter General Hospital for treatment.

They rushed the other two victims to the Kaiser Permanente South Sacramento Medical Center for further aid. Officials did not disclose their names and condition at this time.

Meanwhile, CHP forced the eastbound lanes of Highway 50 near the Interstate 5 to shut down following the wreck. Authorities are still determining the cause of the Sacramento crash.
