Sacramento Crash on Highway 51, Near Exposition Boulevard

SACRAMENTO, Calif., (Oct. 23, 2026) — A crash in Sacramento resulted in minor injuries early Friday morning on the southbound Highway 51, just north of Exposition Boulevard, according to the California Highway Patrol (CHP).

The incident, which happened on Oct. 23rd at approximately 12:20 a.m., involved two vehicles. The collision led to airbags deploying in one vehicle, indicating a significant impact. Responding officers reported that the number one lane and the on-ramp were blocked due to the crash, necessitating towing services for the involved vehicles.

The collision report was initially categorized as a major injury accident but was later downgraded to minor injuries. Emergency services promptly arrived at the scene, and Ed and Sons Towing and HB Towing were dispatched to clear the vehicles. The cause of the crash is currently under investigation, with authorities reviewing CCTV footage and other evidence.
