UC Davis Student Fatally Struck by Garbage Truck in Campus
Sacramento, CA (May 25, 2022) – A UC Davis student died following a traffic accident that occurred in the area of La Rue and Dairy Road.
The Davis Enterprise News reported the female student was riding a bicycle inside the campus of UC Davis. When the cyclist drove through the intersection of La Rue and Dairy, a garbage truck hit the young woman. The horrible crash took place Wednesday around 8 a.m.
When emergency crews arrived at the location, they immediately rendered aid to the cyclist found lying on the ground. According to the article published online, paramedics rushed the victim to UC Davis Medical Center. The patient later sadly succumbed to her injuries and passed away. Pending confirmation and notification of next of kin, the name of the deceased remained undisclosed.
No immediate information was available on the garbage truck driver involved in the unfortunate event.
The UCD and Davis police departments continue to investigate the deadly bicycle accident at La Rue and Dairy Road in Sacramento.
