3 Injured in Fiery Collision Near Interstate 80 Interchange Tuesday
Sacramento, CA (November 30, 2021) – Several people suffered injuries following a suspected DUI car crash that occurred on Interstate 5 Tuesday morning.
The KCRA3 News reported a suspected drunk man was behind the wheel of a BMW sedan traveling in the wrong direction of southbound I-5. When the car approached the area near Interstate 80, it collided head-in into a big rig.
Officials said the truck careened towards the center divider, where it came to a rest. Meanwhile, the sedan veered to the right-hand shoulder of the freeway in Natomas.
Shortly after 1:30 a.m., emergency teams arrived at the location. Responding paramedics found three people with injuries. According to the article published online, a passenger in the BMW suffered minor injuries as a result of the wreck. Meanwhile, no immediate information was available on the other victims in the collision.

Investigators mentioned the BMW driver showed signs of intoxication. Given that, police arrested the man for driving under the influence.
