Bicycle Rider Killed in Sacramento Crash Near Deer Lake and La Tarriga
SACRAMENTO, CA (May 24, 2022) – A crash killed a bicycle rider near Deer Lake Drive and La Tarriga Way in Sacramento.
According to The Sacramento Bee and ABC 10 News, the tragic accident took place on Monday morning. Officers reported the collision at around 8:45 a.m.
The incident happened on May 23 when a Sacramento garbage truck hit a man riding a bicycle in the city’s residential neighborhood for an unknown reason.
Police said the vehicle hit him near the intersection of Deer Lake Drive and La Tarriga Way, a few blocks west of Franklin Boulevard.

Firefighters along with the paramedics arrived in the Valley Hi and North Laguna area. They found the bicyclist down on the ground as a result of the accident.
Medical personnel soon pronounced the victim dead at the scene. His name has not been yet released pending notification of next of kin.
Meanwhile, police did not mention if the truck driver stopped and stayed at the site after hitting the cyclist. The cause of the fatal Sacramento bicycle crash is still under investigation.
Officers forced the corner of Deer Lake and La Tarriga to shut down for a time following the incident.
