1 Dead, 1 Hospitalized after 2 Cars Collide
SACRAMENTO, California (July 22, 2016) – According to The Sacramento Bee, a fatal 2-car collision occurred in the area of Gerber Road and Wilbur Way early Friday morning.
A dispatch by California Highway Patrol said a brown Chevrolet Camaro and a blue Dodge Grand Caravan collided head-on at 12:37 a.m. One of the vehicles involved overturned following the crash.
As per the incident log, Sacramento Fire Department personnel along with the paramedics responded to the scene and initially stated that two people were seriously injured in the wreck. The victims were transported to Kaiser Permanente South Sacramento Medical Center for further treatment.
CBS Sacramento reported that a 19-year-old man was killed while a woman suffered injuries described as non-life-threatening.
Authorities will continue to investigate the cause of the accident to determine liability.
