1 Killed in Sacramento Hit-and-Run Crash on El Camino Avenue Near Business 80
SACRAMENTO, CA (January 27, 2022) – A hit-and-run crash killed a man on El Camino Avenue near the Business 80 in Sacramento.
According to The Sacramento Bee and CBS Sacramento, the tragic accident took place early Thursday. Officers reported the wreck at around 2:40 a.m.
Police said at least two vehicles collided for an unknown reason in North Sacramento. They crashed on El Camino Avenue near the Business 80.
2 Cars Collide
One of the cars involved went off the road and came to rest on an embankment near the freeway. Firefighters along with the paramedics soon arrived and found its male driver severely injured.
Medical personnel soon pronounced the man dead at the scene. His name has not been yet released pending notification of next of kin.
Meanwhile, police located the other vehicle abandoned on El Camino. They affirmed that the second motorist did not stop to render aid and fled on foot.
Officers forced the overpass at the El Camino Avenue exit to shut down for hours following the wreck. The cause of the fatal Sacramento hit-and-run crash is still under investigation.
