Elderly Man Killed in Crash on 66th Avenue Tuesday
SACRAMENTO, Calif. (March 11, 2020) – A 62-year-old man died in a moped accident on 66th Avenue Tuesday, the KCRA3 News reported.
Preliminary investigation revealed the elderly was riding a 2008 Lancer moped while pulling out of a private driveway on 66th. For reasons still unclear, the motorist ended up driving into the path of a 2005 Acura MDX traveling east on 66th.
Deadly Moped Accident in Sacramento, March 10
Per local news source, the impact caused the 62-year-old ejected from the moped onto the westbound lanes of 66th Avenue. First responders rushed the patient to the hospital, where he later died. The identity of the deceased remained undisclosed pending confirmation and notification of next of kin.
The 19-year-old driver of the Acura reportedly stayed at the scene and cooperated with the investigation.
