Pedestrian Killed in Sacramento Crash on Highway 99 Near Elkhorn
SACRAMENTO, CA (June 8, 2023) – A crash killed a pedestrian on Highway 99 near Elkhorn Boulevard in Sacramento.
According to an article published by the KCRA News, the tragic accident took place late Wednesday night. Officers reported the collision on June 7 at around 10:07 p.m.
The incident began when a woman driving on southbound Highway 99, north of Elkhorn Boulevard, got a flat tire for an unknown reason in Sacramento.
The California Highway Patrol said she then exited her car and crossed over into another lane. In the process, another vehicle approached and struck the pedestrian.

Firefighters along with the paramedics arrived at the scene and then found the victim down on the ground. She sustained serious injuries as a result of the collision.
Medical personnel soon pronounced the woman dead. Her name has not been yet released pending notification of next of kin.
Meanwhile, CHP added that the driver involved stopped and stayed at the site following the accident. The cause of the fatal Sacramento pedestrian crash is still under investigation.
Officers forced the southbound lanes of Highway 99 to shut down for a time after the incident.
