1 Injured in Sacramento Hit-and-Run Crash on Highway 99 and Highway 50 Transition
SACRAMENTO, CA (August 18, 2021) – At least one was injured after a hit-and-run crash on Highway 99 and Highway 50 transition in Sacramento.
The California Highway Patrol dispatch team said the accident occurred on Wednesday morning. Officers reported the wreck at about 4:39 a.m.
According to CHP, a Honda slammed into a wall in the city of Sacramento. For an unknown reason a white colored big rig caused the car to crash.
Car Plows Into Wall
The collision took place on northbound Highway 99 to eastbound Highway 50 transition. Firefighters along with the paramedics arrived at the scene.
Medical personnel found an occupant of the Honda left wounded as a result of the collision. They then treated the patient for the unspecified injuries they sustained in the incident.
Officials did not release the name of the victim and their condition at this time. Meanwhile, CHP affirmed that the driver of the semi-truck failed to stop and fled westbound on Highway 50.
Officers forced the northbound Highway 99 to eastbound Highway 50 connector ramp to shut down following the wreck. The Sacramento hit-and-run crash is still under investigation.
