1 Injured in Sacramento Hit-and-Run Crash on Highway 99 Near 12th Avenue
SACRAMENTO, CA (August 29, 2021) – At least one was injured after a hit-and-run crash on Highway 99 near 12th Avenue in Sacramento.
According to the California Highway Patrol dispatch team, the wreck occurred late Sunday night. Officers reported the accident at about 11:35 p.m.
CHP said a white big rig hit a Hyundai Kona for an unknown reason in Sacramento. They crashed on the northbound side of Highway 99, just south of 12th Avenue.
Car and Big Rig Collide
The incident log added that the car lost one tire due to the impact of the collision. Firefighters along with the paramedics soon arrived at the scene.
Medical personnel found an occupant of the Hyundai who complained of pain as a result of the wreck. They provided aid to the patient for the minor injuries they sustained in the accident.
Officials did not disclose the name of the wounded victim and their condition at this time. Meanwhile, CHP affirmed that the male driver of the semi-truck failed to stop and fled the area.
Officers forced the northbound lanes of Highway 99 near 12th Avenue to shut down following the wreck. The Sacramento hit-and-run crash is still under investigation.
