1 Injured in Sacramento Hit-and-Run Crash on Interstate 5 at Richards Boulevard
SACRAMENTO, CA (September 14, 2021) – One was hospitalized after a hit-and-run crash on the Interstate 5 and Richards Boulevard in Sacramento.
The California Highway Patrol dispatch team said the wreck took place late Tuesday afternoon. Officers reported the accident at about 5:35 p.m.
According to CHP, two vehicles collided for an unknown reason in Sacramento. They crashed on the southbound Interstate 5 at the Richards Boulevard off-ramp.
2 Vehicles Collide
Firefighters along with the paramedics soon arrived at the scene near the River Bridge. They found one person who complained of pain to their head as a result of the collision.
Medical personnel took the patient to the Methodist Hospital of Sacramento for treatment of unspecified injuries. Officials did not release the name of the wounded victim and their condition at this time.
Meanwhile, CHP affirmed that one of the drivers involved did not stop to help and then fled the area. Officers forced the southbound Interstate 5 at Richards to shut down following the wreck.
The cause of the Sacramento hit-and-run crash is still under investigation.
