As per the dispatch, Sacramento Fire Department personnel along with the paramedics were on scene and found a pedestrian dead on Madison Avenue, in the area of Super 8 Sacramento.
CHP said the victim was struck by an unknown vehicle about 9:48 p.m. The driver involved did not stop to render aid and took off the scene.
Per an update provided by the Sacramento Bee, the victim has been identified as James Mansfield, 58.
The incident remains under investigation as authorities are searching for the hit-and-run suspect responsible for this malicious act.
