Passenger Trapped in Car 5 Freeway Accident

SACRAMENTO, California (August 11, 2017) – At least one person suffered major injuries Friday morning in a crash between two motorists on the southbound Interstate 5 Freeway, just north of 43rd Avenue, a California Highway Patrol report said.

The 5:50 a.m. collision involved a red and black, older model Ford Mustang sedan and a black Nssan Versa. One of the vehicles overturned and a passenger was trapped inside it.

Paramedics responded to help the injured and transport them to a hospital. The report does not say how many people were hurt.

Police say several lanes were blocked and issued a SigAlert, warning drivers to avoid the area. By 7 a.m., all traffic lanes were reopened.

The crash remains under investigation by police to determine liability.

Liability for Car Accidents

Sacramento car accidentThe facts in this particular case state that two motorists were involved and at least one person suffered serious injuries when one of the vehicles overturned. Police will seek to find out if either driver violated any rules of the road by speeding, driving reckless, drunk driving or making illegal turns. Evidence gathered at the scene may help police piece together what happened as well as determine whether any mechanical failures contributed to the crash or injuries sustained. It’s always helpful if there are witnesses or multiple people who can be interviewed about what led to the crash.  If you were hurt in a collision it’s advisable that you speak with an attorney to ensure your legal rights are protected.
