Major Injury Collision on State Route 51 Wednesday
Sacramento, CA (May 12, 2021) – The California Highway Patrol group reported a traffic accident that occurred on State Route 51, also known as Capital City Freeway, Wednesday morning.
Initial records indicated a motorcycle rider collided with a semi truck in the northbound side of the freeway at Howe Avenue offramp.
Motorcycle Rider Badly Hurt After Road Accident in Sacramento, May 12
Shortly after 9:15 a.m., emergency crews arrived at the site. They reportedly found the motorcyclist lying down near the center divider of the highway. Responding paramedics checked the condition of the rider, and later confirmed they sustained major injuries from the incident. The name of the victim, and their age remained unknown.
Officials mentioned the force from the impact disabled the big rig, blocking multiple lanes on Capital City Freeway. The traffic accident caused traffic delays in the area.
Detectives stayed at the scene to investigate exactly how and why the accident on State Route 51 happened.
