Motorcyclist Seriously Injured in Sacramento Crash Interstate 5 Near Sutterville
SACRAMENTO, CA (August 29, 2021) – A motorcyclist was seriously injured after a crash on the Interstate 5 near Sutterville Road in Sacramento.
The California Highway Patrol said the accident occurred on Sunday night. According to their dispatch, officers reported the wreck at about 9:45 p.m.
A female motorcycle rider, a Mercedes SUV and a Ford Focus collided for an unknown reason in Sacramento. The three crashed on the southbound Interstate 5, just north of Sutterville Road.
Motorcycle Rider and Cars Collide
The Mercedes obtained moderate front damage and a broken left tire upon impact. Firefighters along with the paramedics soon arrived at the scene and found the bike down in lanes.
The motorcyclist sustained major injuries as a result of the collision. Medical personnel then took the patient to a hospital for treatment.
Officials did not disclose the name of the wounded party and their condition at this time. Meanwhile, CHP did not mention if the other drivers ended up hurt or if they stopped after the collision.
Officers forced the southbound lanes of the Interstate 5 near Sutterville Road to shut down following the wreck. The cause of the Sacramento crash is still under investigation.
