Passenger Trapped in Semi-Truck Accident Near Interstate 80
SACRAMENTO, Calif. (July 24, 2024) — A multi-vehicle car crash happened Wednesday morning in Sacramento California along the US Highway 50, just east of the Interstate 80.
The traffic accident occurred on the eastbound US 50 at around 12:31 PM on Wednesday July 24, 2024, according to the California Highway Patrol.
Two semi trucks, a silver Subaru Forester, and two unknown vehicles collided causing a traffic accident in Sacramento California. The Sacramento Fire Department was called and immediately responded to the scene where they came to help a driver in one of the semi trucks who was trapped inside the vehicle.
The accident caused a major traffic hazard in the Nos. 2, 4 and 4 lanes. In addition, one of the passengers was reported to be a juvenile and another passenger was complaining of pain to their neck.
Tow trucks were needed on the scene because of the vehicle soon after the initial collision started catching on fire and an abundance of fluid was all over the roadway, in which sand or absorbent was requested on the scene.
Paramedics responded and located those with injuries and transported them to a nearby hospital for treatment of unknown injuries at this time.
Investigators are working to determine who is at fault for the crash in Sacramento California on the US Highway 50.
