Pedestrian Seriously Injured in Sacramento Crash on Marconi Avenue Near Howe
SACRAMENTO, CA (January 18, 2022) – A crash left a pedestrian seriously injured on Marconi Avenue in Sacramento.
The California Highway Patrol said the accident took place on Tuesday night. Officers reported the collision at about 6:22 p.m.
The incident happened when a vehicle going east struck the pedestrian in the city of Sacramento. For an unknown reason, the driver hit the person at 2020 Marconi Avenue near Howe Avenue.
Victim Hit by Vehicle
Firefighters along with the paramedics soon arrived at the scene. They found the victim who ended up suffering from major injuries as a result of the collision.
Medical personnel then rushed the patient to a hospital for treatment. The name of the wounded party and his condition at this time were not disclosed.
Meanwhile, CHP did not mention if the driver stopped and stayed at the site. They forced a stretch of Marconi Avenue to shut down for a time following the incident.
Officers are still determining if DUI, speed or distracted driving played a role in the collision. The cause of the Sacramento pedestrian crash is still under investigation.
