Pedestrian Injured in Sacramento Hit-and-Run Crash on Steiner Drive
SACRAMENTO, CA (October 3, 2021) – A pedestrian was hospitalized after a possible hit-and-run crash on Steiner Drive in Sacramento.
The California Highway Patrol said the incident took place on Sunday. According to their dispatch, officers reported the accident at about 1:55 a.m.
CHP said a vehicle struck the pedestrian for an unknown reason in Sacramento. The driver hit the person at 6745 Steiner Drive near 53rd Avenue.
Victim Hit by Vehicle
Firefighters along with the paramedics soon arrived at the scene near the Fruitridge Vista neighborhood. They found the victim hurt as a result of the collision.
Medical personnel took the patient to the Kaiser Permanente South Sacramento Medical Center for treatment of a leg injury.
The report did not disclose the name of the wounded party and their condition at this time. Meanwhile, CHP believed that the motorist did not stop to help the pedestrian and then fled the area.
Officers forced a stretch of Steiner Drive to close following the pedestrian collision. The cause of the Sacramento crash is still under investigation.
