SACRAMENTO (July 25, 2016)- According to the Sacramento Bee, a deadly collision involving a single vehicle occurred Friday evening on Highway 99 at the Stockton Boulevard off-ramp.
The incident occurred at roughly 10:20 a.m. when the driver of a BMW identified as Renee Schimke, 18, lost control at the Stockton Boulevard off-ramp and exited the road colliding into a tree.
The collision tragically left Renee Schimke with fatal injuries.
There was a total of three other occupants inside the vehicle all of whom were 18-year-olds from San Joaquin County. Each of the three passengers was hospitalized with injuries ranging from minor to moderate.
Police officials believe that speed may have been a contributing factor in the crash.
