SACRAMENTO, California (March 27, 2017) – A mother and her son were killed in a head-on crash on Jackson Road that also critically injured her baby early Monday morning, according to The Sacramento Bee.
The accident took place at 3:05 a.m., south of Rosemont between Harlin Drive and Mayhew Road, just east of Watt Avenue.
As per the article, California Highway Patrol and the coroner’s office said 31-year-old Renee Villalobos was driving a Honda Accord with her two sons when for an unknown reason she drifted over a center turn lane and collided with a white panel van.
Renee Villalobos and 11-year-old James Gerardo Villalobos were not wearing seat belts and died at the scene. A 1-year-old boy, who was not fully strapped in to a car seat, sustained critical injuries in the crash.
The infant was then taken to UC Davis Medical Center where he later died. The three lived in Elk Grove.
