1 Flown After Boating Accident on Sacramento River

SACRAMENTO, CA (September 20, 2020) – One was airlifted after a Sacramento River boating accident on Sunday morning.

According to reports by The Sacramento Bee and KCRA News, the incident occurred at approximately 1 p.m. just south of the Interstate 5 bridge.

Officers said two people were on the fishing boat when for an unknown reason it became mostly submerged near the confluence of the Sacramento and American rivers.

Sacramento Fire Department rescued two victims at the scene. One of them suffered unspecified injuries following the Sacramento River boating accident.

Meanwhile, an air ambulance transported the patient to a hospital with unspecified injuries. Also, the other person riding the boat reportedly declined medical treatment.

Authorities did not release the names of both parties involved, nor their condition. Meanwhile, authorities are still investigating the cause of the incident.
