Bicycle Rider Killed in Sacramento State Campus Crash on State University Drive
SACRAMENTO, CA (May 27, 2023) – A crash killed a bicycle rider on the Sacramento State campus along State University Drive.
According to The Sacramento Bee and ABC 10 News, the tragic accident took place late Saturday morning. Officers reported the collision on May 27 at about 11:37 a.m.
The incident happened when a car struck a man riding a bicycle on the campus of Sacramento State University. The vehicle hit the cyclist on State University Drive near the American River and Guy West Bridge.

Firefighters along with the paramedics arrived and then found the bicyclist down on the ground. He sustained serious injuries as a result of the collision.
Medical personnel soon pronounced the victim dead at the scene. The name of the deceased party has not been yet released pending notification of next of kin.
Meanwhile, police added that the driver stopped and stayed at the site following the accident. Officers forced a stretch of State University Drive to shut down for a time after the incident.
The cause of the fatal bicycle crash is still under investigation.
