1 Seriously Injured in Sacramento Crash on Interstate 80 Near Truxel Road
SACRAMENTO, CA (August 27, 2021) – At least one was seriously injured after a car crash on the Interstate 80 near Truxel Road in Sacramento.
The California Highway Patrol dispatch team said the accident occurred on Friday afternoon. Officers reported the wreck shortly before 4 p.m.
According to CHP, four vehicles collided for an unknown reason in the South Natomas neighborhood of Sacramento. They crashed on the westbound Interstate 80, just west of Truxel Road.
The incident log described the cars as a black Nissan SUV, a black Tesla, a white Kia Soul and a red Ford F-150 pickup truck. The Nissan obtained major front-end damage upon impact.
Multiple Cars Collide
The Tesla and the Kia came to a rest with major front-end and rear damage. Firefighters along with the paramedics soon arrived at the scene and found several people hurt as a result of the collision.
Medical personnel confirmed that one person sustained major injuries following the wreck. They then rushed that patient to a hospital for treatment.
Officials did not disclose the names of the wounded parties and their condition at this time. Meanwhile, CHP forced the westbound lanes of the Interstate 80 near Truxel to shut down following the wreck.
The cause of the Sacramento crash is still under investigation.
