1 Dead, 2 Injured in Highway 99 Crash near Live Oak
SUTTER COUNTY, Calif. — Sadie Bradford, 27, and Jeff Clark, 29, survived a solo-vehicle crash on Highway 99 that left another passenger with fatal injuries, just south of Live Oak.
Unfortunately, a 21-year-old Oroville man died in the crash early Thursday morning on Highway 99 north of Paseo Rd., according to the California Highway Patrol (CHP).
Jeff Clark, 29, of Oroville, was driving a 2000 Honda Accord with two passengers. The three people were heading southbound of Highway 99. For unknown reasons, the Honda veered onto the west shoulder of the highway and crashed into a tree. Upon impact, the Honda overturned and all three occupants were injured. The young man from Oroville died at the scene and Clark suffered major injuries and was hospitalized.
Meanwhile, Sadie Bradford, who is also from Oroville, suffered minor injuries. She managed to get herself out of the vehicle without assistance.
Indeed, the crash was especially serious because the CHP noted that none of the people riding in the Honda were wearing seatbelts. Additionally, police are investigating whether or not alcohol or drugs were a factor in the collision.
Finally, the CHP will continue to investigate this crash. It’s unknown at this time if any charges were filed against the driver.
