Teen Killed in Marysville Crash on Loma Rica Road Identified
YUBA COUNTY, Calif. (March 26, 2020) – Sadie Martin, 19, of Loma Rica, has been identified as the pedestrian killed Saturday night in a collision on Loma Rica Road in Marysville.
The fatal pedestrian accident took place just before 8 p.m. on March 21st near Highway 20, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The collision took place on the southbound side of Loma Rica Road where the woman was pushing a 2005 Honda.
An oncoming 2011 Chrysler was traveling southbound on Loma Rica Road at an unsafe speed when the driver struck the woman and her vehicle.
Paramedics responded to scene, but sadly the woman succumbed to her injuries.
The 20-year-old man driving the Chrysler was reportedly traveling at 65 mph at the time of the crash. The driver stopped and cooperated with authorities.
The crash remains under investigation.
