Safa Ngo, 35, Killed in Mountain View Head-On Crash on Highway 85
MOUNTAIN VIEW (September 16, 2019) – A man killed after an alleged wrong-way crash along Highway 85 last week Friday has been identified.
The Santa Clara County Medical Examiner-Coroner’s Office said 35-year-old American Canyon resident Safa Ngo died following the accident on September 13.
According to an article published by East Bay Times, Ngo was driving a 2010 Honda Civic north on Highway 85 when he was struck by a 2018 Ford Explorer.
Wrong-Way Driver Sarah Renazco, 27, Also Dead
The Explorer driven by 27-year-old Sarah Renazco was traveling south in northbound lanes when the Mountain View woman hit the Civic head-on.
California Highway Patrol affirmed that the Honda was badly damaged while the Ford rolled over and caught fire as a result of the collision.
Renazco was reportedly pinned inside her burning car upon impact. Both drivers died at the scene. The fiery wreck took place at about 1 a.m. near the Highway 237 exit.
