SALIDA, California (April 21, 2016) — A 26-year-old was gravely injured Thursday morning when his car drifted off the roadway and hit a parked vehicle Tomes and Bacon roads, just two blocks from the Dena Boer Elementary School, a California Highway Patrol report said.
The crash was reported about 10:47 a.m. this morning and prompted a response by firefighters and paramedics. The person was thought to have died at the scene, but an ambulance was sent there and the CHP report stated the person had not died yet.
Police are investigating the crash to determine liability. It is not clear why the man’s car went off the roadway.
“My thoughts and prayers go out to this person in hopes that they pull through,” said Attorney James Johnson said.
