Vehicle Hits, Kills Man on Highway 99 Saturday
Salida, CA (April 3, 2021) – A pedestrian died following a traffic accident that occurred on Highway 99 early Saturday morning, according to the Modesto Bee News.
Earlier reports indicated a female party stepped into traffic for an unknown reason on Highway 99 offramp in Salida. A passing vehicle reportedly failed to avoid and struck the woman near Broadway Avenue.
Fatal Pedestrian Accident in Salida, April 3
Shortly after 2:30 a.m., emergency teams arrived at the site and rendered aid to the pedestrian. The news article published online mentioned the woman sadly succumbed to her injuries and later died. Police continue to withhold the identity of the deceased pending confirmation and notification of next of kin.
The California Highway Patrol said a black Jeep Cherokee was involved in the horrible crash. The name of the driver, and their condition after the incident remained unknown at this time.
Detectives assigned to handle the case continue to investigate the precise cause of the deadly pedestrian accident in Salida.
