1 Seriously Injured in Salinas Crash Near Alisal Road and Hartnell Road
SALINAS, CA (August 23, 2021) – At least one was seriously injured after a car crash near Alisal Road and Hartnell Road in Salinas.
The California Highway Patrol dispatch team said the wreck took place on Monday morning. Officers reported the accident at about 6:04 a.m.
The incident log described the cars involved in the Salinas crash as red Honda Accord, a Hyundai Elantra and a gray Volkswagen Jetta.
According to CHP, the Honda tried passing the Volkswagen and ran the Jetta off the road. The Accord then slammed head-on into the Hyundai.
Multiple Cars Collide
They crashed near the intersection of Alisal Road and Hartnell Road. The Hyundai obtained major front-end damage upon impact.
Firefighters along with the paramedics soon arrived at the scene near Highway 101. They found one person who sustained major injuries as a result of the collision.
Medical personnel then took the patient to a hospital for treatment. Officials did not disclose the name of the wounded party and their condition at this time.
Meanwhile, CHP forced the area of Alisal and Hartnell roads to shut down following the wreck. The cause of the Salinas crash is still under investigation.
