Vehicle Strikes, Kills Woman at Main and Chaparral Street
Salinas, CA (May 12, 2022) – A 67-year-old woman died following a pedestrian accident that occurred in the area of Main and Chaparral Street.
The KSBW News reported a vehicle struck an individual at the intersection in Salinas Wednesday evening. Preliminary investigation revealed the pedestrian was waking inside the crosswalk. For reasons still unclear, an oncoming 2010 Dodge Charger failed to slow down and struck the woman.
Deadly Pedestrian Accident in Salinas
Shortly after 10 p.m., rescue teams arrived at the location. First responders found the woman with severe injuries. Despite life-saving measures performed by paramedics, the victim sadly succumbed to her injuries and passed away. The name of the deceased remained undisclosed pending confirmation and notification of next of kin.
Meanwhile, officials mentioned the 18-year-old driver stopped after the crash. The motorist stayed at the scene and cooperated with the investigation process.
Detectives handling the case continue to work at this time to determine several unclear factors surrounding the deadly pedestrian accident at Main and Chaparral Street in Salinas.
