Pedestrian Killed in Salinas DUI Crash Near Alisal and Wood Streets
SALINAS, CA (August 28, 2021) – A pedestrian was killed after a DUI crash near Alisal and Wood streets in Salinas on Saturday.
The KSBW News and KION News wrote that the tragic incident happened when a vehicle struck the pedestrian in Salinas.
Police said the driver hit the victim near the intersection of East Alisal and Wood streets. They determined that the motorist was under the influence at the time.
Victim Hit by DUI Driver
Firefighters along with the paramedics soon arrived at the scene and confirmed that the pedestrian died as a result of the collision.
The name of the deceased person remains unreleased pending notification of next of kin. Meanwhile, another driver suspected of DUI collided with a patrol car in the area.
Police arrested and charged the two motorists involved with DUIs. Officers forced the intersection of Alisal and Wood to shut down for hours following the DUI crash.
The fatal Salinas pedestrian collision is still under investigation.
