Motorcyclist Killed in Salinas Crash at Davis Road and Ambrose Drive
SALINAS, CA (August 20, 2021) – A motorcyclist was killed after a crash at Davis Road and Ambrose Drive in Salinas.
According to the KSBY News and KION News, the tragic accident took place late Friday afternoon. Officers reported the wreck at around 5:30 p.m.
The incident happened when a van was going south on Davis Road, approaching Ambrose Drive, in Salinas. At the same time, the motorcycle rider was passing on the right shoulder.
Motorcycle and Van Collide Head-On
The California Highway Patrol said the van then made a left turn onto Ambrose. In the process, the vehicle collided head-on with the motorcyclist in the intersection.
Firefighters along with the paramedics arrived and pronounced the rider dead the scene. The name of the deceased victim remains unreleased pending notification of next of kin.
CHP did not mention if the driver of the van ended up hurt as a result of the collision. Meanwhile, officers forced the area of Davis Road and Ambrose Drive to shut down for hours following the wreck.
The cause of the fatal Salinas crash is still under investigation.
