Pedestrian Killed in Salinas Crash on San Juan Grade Road
SALINAS, CA (October 21, 2021) – A crash killed a pedestrian on San Juan Grade Road near Rogge Road in Salinas.
The California Highway Patrol dispatch team said the fatal accident took place on Thursday morning. Officers reported the incident at about 6:48 a.m.
CHP determined that at least one driver struck the pedestrian in Salinas. The motorist hit the person for an unknown reason at 356 San Juan Grade Road near Rogge Road.
Victim Hit by Vehicle
Firefighters along with the paramedics soon arrived at the scene near the Rogge Commons Park. They found the victim who ended up suffering from major injuries as a result of the collision.
Medical personnel then pronounced the patient dead. The report did not release the name of the deceased party pending notification of next of kin.
Meanwhile, CHP believed that two vehicles were involved in the incident and both stayed at the site. Officers forced a stretch of San Juan Grade Road to shut down for a time following the collision.
The cause of the Salinas pedestrian crash is still under investigation.
