2 Injured in Hit-and-Run Collision at Market and Carr Avenue
SALINAS (October 1, 2018)- According to KION546 News, a hit-and-run collision resulted in a man’s arrest this morning at Carr Avenue and Market Street.
Authorities report that at roughly 10:00 a.m., a man identified as Florencio Maldonado, 44, had been driving as an unlicensed driver before colliding with another vehicle with a driver and passenger inside.
Both the driver and passenger who were not identified sustained moderate injuries and were taken away by ambulance with complaints of pain to their neck and back.
Following the initial collision, Maldonado proceeded to drive off before hitting a parked car located near the crossroads of Parkway and Eucalyptus Drive.
Florencio Maldonado Arrested for Hit-and-Run DUI
Salinas police officials were eventually able to detain the 44-year-old man who was confirmed to have also been under the influence on top of being unlicensed.
Maldonado’s blood alcohol level scored twice over the legal limit as he now remains jailed at Monterey County Jail.
