CHP first logged the incident when two vehicles, a Nissan Altima and a pickup truck, collided on northbound Highway 101 at Abott Road off-ramp shortly after 2 p.m. The crash occurred in front Firestone Business Park.
As per the report log, paramedics were on scene and attended to an unknown number of parties involved who were injured following the wreck. At least one person was confirmed to have been seriously hurt upon impact.
All wounded victims were taken to Natividad Medical Center for treatment.
Meanwhile, the dispatch mentioned that one of the drivers involved left the scene of the collision but was later located by the officers. He was described as a short haired Hispanic male adult wearing a gray shirt, black pants and tan boots at the time.
The alleged hit-and-run motorist who is 5’3 tall and weighs 140 to 150 lbs was reportedly seen spitting up blood and with possible leg injuries.
Authorities will continue to investigate the cause of the accident.
