1 Seriously Injured in Salinas Crash on Highway 68 Near San Benancio Road
SALINAS, CA (September 5, 2021) – At least one was seriously injured after a crash on Highway 68 near San Benancio Road in Salinas.
The California Highway Patrol dispatch team said the wreck took place on Sunday afternoon. Officers reported the accident at about 3:45 p.m.
According to CHP, a motorcyclist and three other vehicles collided for an unknown reason in Salinas. They crashed on westbound Highway 68, just east of San Benancio Road.
Motorcycle and Cars Collide
The incident log mentioned that the rider of a Harley Davidson motorcycle hit the rear of a gray Lexus. They added that a white Nissan Xterra also ended up rear-ended in the process.
Firefighters along with the paramedics soon arrived at the scene near the Ambler Park. They found one person who sustained major injuries as a result of the collision.
Medical personnel then took the patient to a hospital for treatment. Officials did not release the name of the wounded party and their condition at this time.
Meanwhile, CHP forced the westbound lanes of Highway 68 near San Benancio to shut down following the wreck. Authorities are still determining the cause of the Salinas crash.
