Woman Fatally Struck Crossing Main and Alisal
DATE OF COLLISION: Wednesday, October 10th
According to KION 546 News, a deadly pedestrian versus auto collision was reported last night at the intersection of Main and Alisal streets.
Salinas police were notified of the accident which took place at roughly 7:45 p.m.
Preliminary investigations have confirmed that the involved motorist had been traveling at approximately 25 mph of speed before hitting the victim who is only being identified as a woman at this time.
The woman who suffered major injuries was rushed to a nearby hospital, where she sadly succumbed to her injuries and was pronounced dead.
Police affirmed that the motorist remained present at the scene following the accident and was cooperative throughout the questioning process.
Neither drugs nor alcohol is believed to have been a contributing factor.
