Salvador Covarrubias, 67, Killed in Wasco Bicycle Crash at Poplar and Filburn
WASCO, CA (August 30, 2022) – A bicycle crash killed Salvador Covarrubias at Poplar and Filburn avenues in Wasco.
The coroner’s office identified the 67-year-old Wasco man as the victim of the fatal collision which took place on Sunday.
The incident happened when Salvador Covarrubias was riding a bicycle in Wasco. For an unknown reason, a truck hit him at the intersection of Poplar and Filburn avenues.
Truck Hits Bicyclist
Firefighters along with the paramedics arrived and then found the bicyclist down on the ground. He sustained serious injuries as a result of the accident.
Salvador Covarrubias soon died at the scene. The Kern Golden Empire and Bakersfield Californian wrote that the incident occurred on August 28 at around 8:20 p.m.
Meanwhile, deputies did not mention if the driver stopped and stayed at the site after the wreck. Officers forced the area of Poplar and Filburn avenues to shut down for a time following the collision.
